With the latest report on meeting the National Close the Gap benchmarks revealing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health outcomes are still falling behind those of non-Indigenous Australians, it is more important than ever to take a stand together to demand health equality. There are a range of ways to get involved in showing support for this important campaign. View the events taking place nationwide to support Closing the Gap or register your own, and sign the petition to send a message to the government that public support for equality in health outcomes is high. On National Close the Gap Day, 15th March, Micah Projects will be partnering with other organisations to host a free sausage sizzle at West End, 11am-2pm, to provide a forum for all to have a voice in giving feedback and putting forward ideas for improvement. Local community worker and elder, Uncle Sam Watson, will begin proceedings, with guest speakers, live music, and a hands-on art project. View the flyer.
