The Australian Association of Social Workers National Symposium 2017 will be held from Thursday, 30th November to Saturday, 2nd December 2017 at the Hotel Grand Chancellor in Hobart, Tasmania. The theme of the symposium is ‘Advocacy and social work: creating individual and social change.’
Advocacy is a principal skill of the social work profession in Australia. With their commitment to social justice and human rights, social workers have always advocated for the rights of individuals, groups and communities.
With two pre-eminent keynote speakers, over 25 professional development and networking sessions and delegates from all over Australia, the symposium will be a unique opportunity to share current practice knowledge and work experiences, and network with the social work sector’s peers.
