The Child Protection Inter-agency Steering Committee is comprised of a diverse range of agencies involved in child protection services in Queensland, including Children’s Health Queensland, Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services, Queensland Police, Department of Education and Training, Queensland Family and Child Commission, Office of the Public Guardian, Department of Justice and Attorney-General, PeakCare Queensland, CREATE Foundation, Foster Care Queensland, Life Without Barriers, Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peak, and Legal Aid.
Early bird ticket prices are now available for the Annual Inter-agency Child Protection Symposium hosted by the Steering Committee, with this year’s theme being More than the Sum Of its Parts, Interagency Collaboration: Connecting the dots for our young people. The Symposium will focus on how best to support adolescents in out-of-home-care.
Topics include education, safety planning, trauma informed practices, redressing criminisational with youth justice and a vibrant line up of practitioners, police, educators, those with care and caring experiences and researchers to engage in conversations about challenging ourselves individually and systemically to improve outcomes for young people in the care system.
